I just got the check for a 1,200 word piece I labored for 3 days on. $150. I still count myself lucky that I get paid to write at all, but geez.

Update: I retract my whining about that check and am going to call myself out for being totally full of shit because, as my husband just pointed out, “that’s not actually what you got paid.” (It’s a long story.) Speaking of whiny writers with a sense of entitlement: Take a look at this (via Michelle Dean).
